DCBOE is committed to providing accessible digital materials so that all voters have equal access to election information and the voting process. Our website endeavors to comply with best practices and standards as defined by Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act and level AA of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1.

DCBOE's policy prohibits discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities with respect to the benefits of and access to programs, services, and activities. Any person who believes they have been improperly denied the benefit of, or access to, a program, service, or activity may submit a grievance. Language access services (interpreters, translated ballots, and LanguageLine) are available for no or limited English proficient voters on Election Day.

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the D.C. Board of Elections strives to provide reasonable accommodations and services for persons who require special assistance to participate in our programs, services and activities. While our facility is wheelchair accessible, attendees can participate in our public meetings telephonically via our conference bridge line.
Upon request, BOE will provide appropriate auxiliary aids and services to ensure effective communication for qualified persons with disabilities, so they can participate equally in our public meetings and events. This includes assistive listening devices, qualified American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters, and alternative format documents (braille, large print or electronic). Service animals are also welcome.
